What are one-to-one English classes?

One-to-one English tuition is one of the best ways to improve your language skills. Your teacher can focus 100% on your specific needs and can really help you to progress.

In a class of six or seven students, each person usually has a little higher or lower level of English. For instance, one student might be better at writing, while you might be better at listening.

In a group class, everybody learns more or less at the same pace. However, if there is one skill you especially want to focus on, such as writing, this is always possible in a one-to-one class. Similarly, if you want to focus just on speaking, you can. In fact, it’s the same with pronunciation, or with any skill, you want to master.

How many one-to-one classes will I need?

This depends. In one-to-one English tuition, your teacher will create your course based on exactly what you want to study and focus on. Because you will receive 100% of the teacher’s attention, your language journey will be much shorter. As a matter of fact, you can take just one class, if you want to. For example, maybe you have a business meeting to go to, and you need to prepare a presentation. For something like this, one lesson may be enough. You can practice your presentation to your teacher, and they will give you helpful feedback.

Alternatively, you might want to practice your conversation skills. You may even want to do something really specific, like improve your British accent. For something like this, you will probably need more than just one class.

The great thing about one-to-one classes is that they can be anything you want them to be. However, as a general rule, we recommend that you start with a course of 10 hours. After that, your teacher will assess your progress, and you can decide if you want more time or not.
